Fresh Ideas for a better future 

As an IT consultant, I have seen many different cases of scam and it has happened to me personally and my clients. I had to recognise the threat and deal with it. It is always obvious and companies become more and more sophisticated. The utilise the latest technologies, using AI technology as well as other powerful software.

They are using email lists, social media channels and advertising, as a cover ,just to mention some methods. It is a long list and people must be really careful. They target individuals and companies. It does matter how small or big you are, you can always be in use to them. Your data these days are sometimes more important than money these days. Data can be sold, used to target you and people close to you, learn your habits and even used to claim money from you!

You can not be to careful these days, when you open your emails. Do not open attachments, unless you are sure about the content. Email attachments (.pdf,.rar,.zip) file extensions, sometimes include malware or a virus. Scan them first and then open them! Do not click on advertising, especial pop up ads. Use an ad blocker, in order to filter them or block them. Most ad blockers are free and you do not need to buy the premium package.

Watch out your social media friendships, connections and followers. This is the latest trend using social media real or fake accounts, in order to get information from you, your friends, your connections and your followers. Even filling a simple form, or filling a survey, for a little bit of cash, can be used against you. I have noticed recently lots of double fake profiles on social media, used in order to attract your friends and connections.

Finally remember every wrong mouse click, can sometimes lead to something nasty, that you do not need right now!Be safe, be healthy and happy until my next post.....
